Wally went to the Dentist!!!!

One day recently while visiting my dentist, he said he would like a Wally to replace the Easter bunny in his dental office window. I eagerly volunteered (something I do quite often) to make him a Wally. As you can see, I am true to my word. This was a bigger project than I anticipated and needed an extra pair of hands to at least hold the head on while I stitched it. So my neighbor helped me with the creation (she actually designed the eyes, cheeks and mouth). I first purchased a pattern from www.adollpattern.com to use as a guideline. The pictures indicate the various stages it took before he was a whole Wally, and yes, it took two tries before we could get him the size we wanted. The first time he was eight feet tall!!! The hair and nose are crocheted. He was all hand sewn right down to his hands as I don't have a sewing machine. Today he is sitting in the dental chair waiting for his cleaning. I hope he doesn't have any cavities.

"Old-Fashioned" Picture Frame for the Happy Couple!

I crocheted this picture frame using the pattern from Old-Time Crochet made easy book, and it was easy. I hope the happy couple like it!

Latest Project - February 18, 2009

Knitted scarf that I made out of denim cotton. Notice the crocheted chain fringe which is easier than cutting and trimming yarn. Knitting sure takes a long time to complete compared to crocheting.
