Christmas Items

I didn't have much time for crocheting during the holiday season, but did manage to make Robby and Lauren a new Afghan using Mile-a-Minute pattern and Pimmy a new hat (she has outgrown her old ones).

This is a variety of different style baby hats that I have crocheted in the last couple of months.  They are all crocheted freehand.

Baby Sandals for Pimmy

I crocheted these cute sandals quickly for baby Pimmy as she was coming for a visit.  I used a pattern from tutusandteaparties.blogspot.com. Thanks for the pattern.  They turned out so cute, but it was funny that Pimmy at 2 1/2 months did not like her toes touched.

Another Walker Bag Created

Another version of a walker bag.  I discovered that you must double the yarn to make it sturdy enough for the walker, otherwise it sags.  I also used #K hook.  Velcro hooks on the back to hold it on the walker.

Crocheted Diaper Bag Baby Shower Favors

Baby Shower favors were crocheted in a triangle, secured with a stitch, diaper pin glued on, bags filled with candy and secured with a ribbon. Very easy and cute. Oh, of course, these were made for my Step-Daughter whose baby is due next month and it's a girl. Here are the instructions if you would like to try them yourself:

Use F hook, and any baby yarn. I didn't worry about gauge.

Row 1: Chain 26, dc in 3rd from hook and across row.

Row 2-4: Ch 2, turn work, dc across row (25 stitches)

Row 5-thru end: Ch 2, turn work, decrease st over next 2 stitches, dc across row until 2 stitches remain. Dec over remaining 2 stitches. Finish off.

Fold triangle and stitch closed. Glue on diaper pin and stuff with goodie bag. Tie to close.

Crocheted Walker's Friend Bag - Texas Style

This is an easy tote bag that I made for my Mom's walker as she needed something to carry her glasses and ID in. I got the idea from "crochetme" website and a design by Sarah Read. I crocheted the bag using a single crochet stitch (in the back loop only), creating a ribbed effect. I used Red Heart Supersaver yarn in the Texas flag colors as she is a new resident of the State. She loves it and now all her friends want one!
