Granddaughter's Crocheted Dress

I crocheted this dress for my granddaughter (1 year old) modifying an old pattern that I had on hand...used Aunt Lydia's #10 mint green thread and a #7 hook.  As you can see, it just fits. Oh well......

Lauren's Penquins

I crocheted the penquin hats for Lauren and our new Grandbaby, Ethan who is due on March 17th.  I'm now working on one for Daddy Robby.  I used "Repeat Crafter Me" pattern.  You can find her free pattern on Facebook page. Of course, Ethan also needed a new blanket and hat to come home from the hospital. I'm so excited to meet him.

Christmas Items

I didn't have much time for crocheting during the holiday season, but did manage to make Robby and Lauren a new Afghan using Mile-a-Minute pattern and Pimmy a new hat (she has outgrown her old ones).

This is a variety of different style baby hats that I have crocheted in the last couple of months.  They are all crocheted freehand.

Baby Sandals for Pimmy

I crocheted these cute sandals quickly for baby Pimmy as she was coming for a visit.  I used a pattern from tutusandteaparties.blogspot.com. Thanks for the pattern.  They turned out so cute, but it was funny that Pimmy at 2 1/2 months did not like her toes touched.

Another Walker Bag Created

Another version of a walker bag.  I discovered that you must double the yarn to make it sturdy enough for the walker, otherwise it sags.  I also used #K hook.  Velcro hooks on the back to hold it on the walker.

Crocheted Diaper Bag Baby Shower Favors

Baby Shower favors were crocheted in a triangle, secured with a stitch, diaper pin glued on, bags filled with candy and secured with a ribbon. Very easy and cute. Oh, of course, these were made for my Step-Daughter whose baby is due next month and it's a girl. Here are the instructions if you would like to try them yourself:

Use F hook, and any baby yarn. I didn't worry about gauge.

Row 1: Chain 26, dc in 3rd from hook and across row.

Row 2-4: Ch 2, turn work, dc across row (25 stitches)

Row 5-thru end: Ch 2, turn work, decrease st over next 2 stitches, dc across row until 2 stitches remain. Dec over remaining 2 stitches. Finish off.

Fold triangle and stitch closed. Glue on diaper pin and stuff with goodie bag. Tie to close.

Let me know if you have any questions at blarneypro@att.net.

Crocheted Walker's Friend Bag - Texas Style

This is an easy tote bag that I made for my Mom's walker as she needed something to carry her glasses and ID in. I got the idea from "crochetme" website and a design by Sarah Read. I crocheted the bag using a single crochet stitch (in the back loop only), creating a ribbed effect. I used Red Heart Supersaver yarn in the Texas flag colors as she is a new resident of the State. She loves it and now all her friends want one!

New Bridal Crinoline Lady

Oh, it felt good to get back to crocheting with thread after all those baby blankets. I made this bridal crinoline lady for my niece's wedding shower. She was thrilled. I used three different patterns from http://www.crochetmemories.com/. Ms. Mum's skirt, Ms. Sweet Pea's hat and Ms. Easter Lily's bodice. The bride's colors are green and blue and she will be carrying sun flowers as her bouquet.

Teddy Layette for my Great-Grandson

This was my first attempt at knitting a teddy bear. The pattern is a Deborah Noville special and the blanket is crocheted. The sweater is knitted and, I think, turned out real well. I will post a photo of Chace as soon as I receive one.

Pillow Square Exchange

I used one of my pillow squares from an exchange that I belonged to a while ago and created this pillow for a friend that was going back to Thailand. She needed a pillow for the long flight home.

Revised - Crocheted Baby Dress

Revised dress - I decided to thread ribbon through the bodice and move the flower to the front of the dress. I think it looks better.
This is my first attempt to crochet a baby dress. I have been wanting to try this for a long time, but didn't know any little girls. Now with my new family, I have four new little ones to make dresses for. This one was made using #3 crochet thread. I'm pretty proud of it...now need to decide which little girl gets the first one!!!

These lovely garden roses were created by me using #10 crochet thread of various colors. I attached with glue the leaves and brooch pin. They will be given to the garden club members by Marie P. (92 years old) as her special gift to them. Hope they like them!

Back to Basic Car Seat Blanket and Hat

I wanted something simple and easy to crochet and knit and my friend had a baby boy. Sometimes you just don't want to think too much about a project. Right?
